The Power of Family and Business

The Power of Family and Business

Family Business Central and The Icehouse are delighted to present David and Emily Hammon, third generation of the Hammon family that owns Scenic World and now runs BridgeClimb Sydney.

This workshop sees David and Emily sharing their story of being leaders of a growing multi-generational tourism family business. They will discuss many business highlights and offer great insight into the last 15 years where they have scaled and optimised their business for fast growth while managing succession and legacy.

The Harbour Bridge Sydney Australia

David and Emily will share their insights into:

  • How the team won the tender against 12 other contenders, including the incumbent operators who started BridgeClimb Sydney and had been running it for 20 years.
  • Their vision for managing and growing an iconic Australian tourist attraction.
  • How they are building a corridor of tourist attractions that have doubled the size of their business in two years.
  • How after overcoming huge family disruptions, the Hammon Family is now considered the benchmark for how to build and run a highly profitable family business and family legacy.
  • How the family has implemented a range of cutting edge family and business governance structures that have enabled them to successfully manage succession and grow both the family and the business to where they are today.

Their presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on Growing a Business and Building a Legacy – featuring Liz Wotherspoon, Director Business Growth at The Icehouse and Philip Pryor, CEO Family Business Central.

Numbers are limited to this highly interactive workshop and strict Chatham House Rules will be observed.
